Groves is a city in Jefferson County, Texas named after Asa E. Groves, a pioneer Port Arthurian and the editor of the Port Arthur News. The first store was built in the 6100 block of Jefferson in 1920. The planting of the city’s famous pecan trees has made Groves one of the most beautiful communities in the Texas area.
